Losing Weight

No matter how many miles you run or how fast, or how many kettlebell swings you can do at once, or how long you can hold a fancy yoga pose, or no matter how many times a week you sweat it out to Zumba or a Step class, or how much weight you can lift, you will not lose weight if you eat like crap!

Nutrition is more important to overall weight loss than exercise is.
Exercise makes you strong, fit, aids in weight loss, and helps to prevent you from putting on more weight.

But if your goal is weight loss you need to adjust your diet.

It does not mean skimping on meals or necessarily eating less - it means eating less of crappy foods!
Processed foods = crappy foods.

Stay away from packaged foods and stick to whole foods and you'll be better off.

The warmer months are approaching quickly (thankfully) and that means shorts and bathing suit weather.

I'm all for adjusting my diet too.
Time to get away from the comfort winter foods and instead eat the yummy fruits and veggies that are in season through the spring and summer months.

Try some apple almond pancakes!

Ingredients:
6 egg whites
1 apple diced
1 TB unsweetened apple sauce
1/2 cup almond meal
1/4 tsp baking soda
pinch of cinnamon

Directions:
Heat a frying pan til hot, then turn down to medium heat.
Mix all ingredients together except apple.
Spray pan with Pam or other cooking spray.
Pour on batter - when it starts to bubble, add in some diced apple.
Let them set in before flipping the pancake.
Makes 4-6 pancakes. YUM!
