Proper Nutrition

Proper nutrition can change your life – save your life!
Good nutrition is the number one thing you can do to keep yourself healthy, and it is typically the number one thing most of us ignore.
Let’s face it – processed foods are readily available, convenient, cheap, and well, can taste pretty good too.
I am trying to move more and more away from processed foods and eat REAL food almost ALL of the time. This means more cooking, and well - I hate to cook. 
I also make sure I take my Juice Plus EVERY day (www.ginatrimjuiceplus.com). Though this does not replace food, it can certainly help bridge the gap of what you are not eating. 17 different fruits in veggies in my Juice Plus and couldn’t be happier about it.
Since starting on it the tendonitis in my shoulders has disappeared! Amazing what happens when your body gets the nutrition it needs.
You’ll perform better, sleep better, have more energy, crave healthy food instead of junk food and be overall happier about your body. Who doesn’t want that?
When it comes to what your body looks like, nutrition far outweighs anything else – including exercise. You can exercise yourself like crazy, but if you eat like crap, you will look like it too.
Food is everywhere and so tempting, therefore having some good food choices around the house is extremely important.
Below I have included a couple of easy recipes for some great nutritious whole foods. Some of them might sounds funny, but trust me, they are delicious. Even my husband likes them, and he is one fussy eater. My 2 year old loves them too. Enjoy!

GREEN JUICE
1 large, over ripe, frozen banana
¾ cup water
¾ cup organic, fresh spinach
1-2 TB Maple Syrup (100%, Grade B)

Put in blender and drink it up right away.

CHOCOLATE PUDDING
2 cups RAW cashews
½ cup raisins (unsulfured)
8 medjool pitted dates
5 TB of Raw Cacao powder
1.5 cups water

Soak raisins, cashews and dates for 1-2 hours, then drain
Put in blender with water and cacoa power, blend until smooth.
Eat it right away (it will be warm) or put it in the fridge to store, or freezer to make ice cream.

PUMPKIN SMOOTHIE
¼ cup water
¼ cup almond milk
¼ cup canned pumpkin
1 tsp cinnamon
6 ice cubes
1 TB raw honey
Blend it up and drink away.

KALE CHIPS
Preheat oven to ‘warm’ only (less than 150 degrees)
Break off washed kale into small pieces and put onto cookie sheets
Spray with olive oil
Sprinkle on sea salt
Put in oven for 2-3 hours (until crispy).

  1. Thanks for the recipes!
Question about Juice Plus? Do you take the pill form or drink it? I tend to steer away from fruit juice b/c of the sugar content.
What turned you on to Juice Plus?
    Thanks for the info!

  2. Hi Jan! Thanks for the questions.

Juice Plus comes in capsule form (chewables for kids) so it is wheat, sugar, soy, and dairy free, vegetarian, and kosher.
It is REAL food (dehydrated fruots and veggies ground into a powder and put into capsules), so your body absorbs it 100% - unlike vitamins. I stopped wasting my money on vitamins and got Juice Plus instead. I got such great results I wanted to share it with everyone I knew!

If you have more questions, please feel free to ask.
